Google's newly launched Pixel to make dent into Apple Ecosystem say Experts.
New Delhi,October 5 (IANS) Experts have said that Google's newly launched Artificial Intelligence powered device Google's Pixel will impact Apple iPhone's ecosystem and even Samsung Premium device Note 7 to an extent.
India is among the list of six countries where pixel is being launched.The device will be soon available for pre-order in the country from October 13,starting at INR 57000/-.
Owing to battery explosion fears,Samsung has delayed on its Note 7,thus creating void in the premium segment.
Tarun Pathak,Senior Analyst,Mobile devices and Ecosystems at New Delhi based Counterpoint research told IANS that " Google,while merging hardware and software towards creating a new ecosystem,poses a direct threat to the Apple ecosystem.Google Pixel will come up with the newest Android OS-Android 7.1 Nougat.Pixel phones will also get software and security updates as soon as they are available,directly from the Google".
"Also the void created by the absence of Samsung Note 7 is also going to help Pixel cement its position in the Premium segment very well.Note 7 is yet to arrive in India so pixel may have a good headstart in India" Pathak told IANS.
Pixel comes in two sizes one with 5 inch screen and another with 5.5 inch,with corning gorilla glass 4 protected AMOLED display.
Pixel is the First ever smartphone with inbuilt Google Assistant-A built in AI program that works as an intelligent personal assistant and knowledge navigator like Apple's siri.
Device users can have a natural conversation with Google assistant to find out the answers or get things done on the go.Just say "OK Google" or touch and hold the Home button and Assistant is ready to help.
According to the view of Anshul Gupta,Research director at Gartner,Google now has a complete organized ecosystem in place and needs to focus on strengthening its distribution network.
"Having told that,It cant outsell devices like iPhone 7 or Samsung Note 7 as they have hundreds and thousands of touch points around.Overnight,Google cant outsell these premium brands.Google has to build a robust distribution network to gain ground," Gupta said IANS.
"With controlling both software and hardware,Google is now making a statement here to deliver the best product powered with premium Google assistant.Good news is that the company will be directly handed over to customers and not via partners" Gupta added.
Google also offering unlimited and free of cost online storage for videos and photos and in original quality.Pixel comes with pre-installed Google Duo video calling application and messaging app Allo.
With powerhouse specifications,Both the Google devices will have similar hardware.These smartphones are fitted with Qualcomm's latest snapdragon 821 quad core processors and 4GB Ram.
Pixel has a 2770 mAh battery while the 5.5 inch screen device has 3450 mAh battery.Both the devices support 'Quick charge' technology,promising 7 hours of battery life with just 15 mins of continuous charging applied.
